What is Logistics Sector Skill Council (LSC)

Logistics Sector Skill Council (LSC), established by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) through National Skill Development Corporation of India (NSDC), has launched Apprenticeship-based higher education programmes both in humanities and technology disciplines with the primary objective of creating adequate skills for gainful employment at various levels of managerial cadre in Logistics Industry. The core focus of the programmes is Skill Development, and hence nearly 60% of the programme component & duration constitutes On-the Job Training in the form of Industry Apprenticeship. The specific objective of Apprenticeship Training of degree students is to help them

Demonstrate the knowledge, skill, and attitude gained while undergoing the degree programme

Take appropriate and practical decisions on the day-to-day managerial issues in Logistics Processes

Perform as an effective and efficient supervisory staff

Get inducted in a Logistics company effortlessly immediately on joining the company

The Skill India Mission of the Government of India had addressed this issue with the introduction of apprenticeship-embedded Under Graduate Programmes in humanities. In the meeting on ‘Mainstreaming of apprenticeship in Higher Education’ held at NITI Aayog in January 2018, it was decided to Integrate of Skilling in Higher Education with an aim to enhance employability skills of undergraduates to make them industry-ready. It was also decided to embed apprenticeship training within the programme period to skill the degree students. The Sector Skill Councils were given the responsibility for industry connect with Higher Education Institutions to ensure onboarding of degree students for apprenticeship training.

What is Retailers Association skill Council of India

RASCI is a not-for-profit, independent public limited organization established under Section 25 of the Companies Act. RASCI have been funded by the Government of India along with Equity participation from Retailer’s Association of India, Reliance Retail Ltd., Future Retail India Ltd., Shoppers Stop Ltd., Globus Stores (P) Ltd., Trent Ltd., Infiniti Retail Ltd. and Connaught Plaza Restaurant (P) Ltd. to function as the Apex Skill Development Council for the Retail Industry.

RASCI represent the retail industry in India.

RASCI is a collaborative and comprehensive source of retail expertise and independent advice for industry, training organizations, educational institutions, certifying bodies, employees, students or jobseekers about skills development in the retail industry.

What is Department of Logistics

Department of Logistics

The Department of Logistics has started in the year 2019 with an apprenticeship based programme BBA Logistics in association with Logistics Sector Skill Council (LSC). Later in the year 2020 we have included another apprenticeship based programme, BMS Degree in E-Commerce Operations in collaboration with LSC. We have also spread our wings & included two more apprenticeship based programmes in the year 2021, named as BBA Retail Operations in association with Retailers Association skill Council of India (RASCI) and BMS Agri Storage And Supply Chain Management in collaboration with LSC.
